Vintage Shenango China Restaurant Ware Pedestal Mug, Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art, Pattern SHO314 for Dutch Pantry Family Restaurants.
In excellent condition.
It appears to have seen very little use!
Clean with no chips, cracks, repairs, stains, crazing, or any other damage.
Made for commercial use, likely in the mid-20th century.
The Dutch Pantry Family Restaurants operated from 1945 – 1980s.
Description: Restaurant ware, burgundy on white, Pennsylvania Dutch folk art: der distlefink (European goldfinch).
A distelfink frequently appears in Pennsylvania Dutch folk art. It represents happiness and good fortune and the Pennsylvania German people, and is a common theme in hex signs and in Fraktur (a highly artistic and elaborate illuminated folk art created by the Pennsylvania Dutch, named after the Fraktur script associated with it).
Approximately 3 ¾” tall x 3 ¾” across the top.
Holds approximately 6 ounces.
